These products included MICE tourism, golf, ecotourism, cultural heritage exploration, food, night entertainment, and notable events and festivals.
Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, the esteemed Vice Chairman of Danang City People’s Committee, expressed his gratitude towards the successful networking event: “Through the event which was supported and attended by dignitaries including the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesian Travel Association, and tourism businesses from both Indonesia and Danang; I firmly believe that the exchanging information and ideas between businesses from both sides will pave the way for numerous opportunities for cooperation, connection, and promotion. The outcome of these efforts could lead to the opening of flights from Indonesia to Danang shortly, which will undoubtedly contribute to the growth of the economy and the tourism industry of both nations.”

With a predominantly Muslim population of approximately 280 million, Indonesia ranks the largest in Southeast Asia and fourth globally. In the first eight months of this year, many Indonesian tourists visited and stayed in Danang, a testament to the allure of the city’s attractions. While Indonesia needs to account for a significant proportion of the market structure of international visitors to Danang, Indonesia is one of the potential markets in which Danang tourism is particularly interested.
Mr. Ta Van Thong, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Indonesia, expressed, “Danang is a wonderful, hospitable, and amicable city, and believed that its tourism products are well-suited to the preferences of Indonesian tourists. Furthermore, the Embassy would like to have the active support and coordination with Da Nang City to facilitate the establishment of direct flights from Indonesia to Da Nang to enhance visitor exchange between the two sides by collaborating with aviation and travel partners in Indonesia.”

As Muslim tourists are expected to be a significant source of visitors in the future, particularly in the Indonesian market, Danang has emphasized attracting and investing in accommodation infrastructure, promoting direct flights, providing Muslim-friendly restaurants, and setting up a prayer room at Danang International Airport. These efforts aim to enhance the convenience for Muslim tourists exploring Danang.
Ms. Pauline – President of the Indonesia Travel Association, said: “One of the reputable tour operators in Indonesia reported that 53% of Indonesian tourists are willing to pay for premium tours that include multiple services, such as stays at 4-star and 5-star hotels. I would like to emphasize the importance of attending such events to enhance the travel industry and the significance of regular product updates. With the direct flight starting soon, travel partners from both sides can look forward to further strengthening our cooperation.” During the successful Danang Tourism Introduction Program held in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Danang City Travel Association and Indonesia Travel Association signed a cooperation agreement to promote the Indonesia – Danang route.

The promotion delegation received considerable attention, exchange, and information from Indonesian travel enterprises during the program. The Indonesian travel businesses were keenly interested in Danang’s supportive policy for MICE delegations. They hoped the city would take the necessary steps to initiate direct flights from Indonesia to Danang. They also suggested that Danang consider investing in additional prayer rooms and Halal-certified restaurants to cater to Muslim market guests. Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Danang Department of Tourism, acknowledged the suggestions and confirmed that the city is actively establishing direct connections and exchanging information with domestic airlines and Indonesian airlines to promote the opening of direct flights. The tourism industry also emphasizes the need for businesses to invest in facilities and infrastructure to cater to the Muslim market, especially Indonesian tourists.
The program provided a valuable platform for travel and hotel businesses in Danang to engage with their Indonesian counterparts, exchange information, and showcase their products.
The tourism introduction program in Jakarta, Indonesia, aimed to promote Danang. At the same time, the cooperation agreement signed between the Indonesia Travel Association and the Danang Travel Association, along with direct communication and exchange between businesses from both sides, is expected to significantly enhance tourism between the two countries.
