In the first half of 2026, Da Nang continued to strengthen its position on the regional tourism map with impressive growth. A vibrant calendar of international festivals and events, an expanding network of international air routes, and continuously refreshed tourism products have contributed to making the city an increasingly attractive destination for both domestic and international travelers.
According to estimates, accommodation establishments in Da Nang served nearly 9.8 million visitors during the first six months of 2026, up 22.5% compared to the same period in 2025. Notably, international arrivals reached nearly 5.2 million, up 28.7% year-on-year and accounting for 52.8% of all overnight visitors, remaining the key growth driver of Da Nang’s tourism industry as the city continues to strengthen its connectivity with international markets. Meanwhile, domestic visitors exceeded 4.6 million, an increase of 16.2% over the same period last year, demonstrating the destination’s sustained appeal to the domestic market.
These results reflect the effectiveness of the city’s efforts to promote the destination and expand international connectivity. In addition to continuously developing its international flight network, Da Nang has actively carried out tourism promotion programs in key markets such as South Korea, Japan, India, Southeast Asia, and Europe, while strengthening cooperation with airlines, travel companies, and international partners to expand visitor markets. As a result, the city’s international visitor portfolio has become increasingly diversified, enhancing Da Nang’s position on the regional tourism map and gradually affirming its role as Central Vietnam’s international gateway.

Da Nang’s appeal in the first half of the year was further enhanced by a series of large-scale international festivals and events that created a vibrant atmosphere and distinctive experiences for visitors. Highlights included the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2026), featuring spectacular fireworks performances along the Han River; the 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV), which brought together renowned filmmakers and cinema professionals from across Asia and around the world; as well as a wide range of cultural, sporting, entertainment, music, and culinary events held throughout the summer. This diverse lineup of events not only contributed to increased visitor arrivals and longer stays but also encouraged travelers to discover more of the destination’s unique attractions while strengthening Da Nang’s visibility across international tourism markets.
Alongside event development, Da Nang has continued to refresh its tourism product ecosystem under the 2026 tourism development orientation, “Return to Origins.” Through themed experiences including Return to Tranquility – Where Wellness Begins, Return to Nature – Where Nature Reconnects, Return to Heritage – Where Traditional Craft Villages Tell Their Stories, Return to Palate – Where Quang Cuisine Awakens the Senses, and Return to Moments – Where Events Create Unforgettable Memories, the city offers emotionally enriching journeys that seamlessly connect nature, culture, cuisine, and local lifestyles. These experiences are designed to meet the increasingly diverse expectations of both domestic and international visitors.

The growth in visitor numbers has also generated strong momentum for related service sectors. During the first half of 2026, revenue from accommodation and food services was estimated at VND 32.4 trillion, up 21.6% year-on-year and accounting for approximately 22.4% of the city’s total retail sales of goods and consumer services. Of this, accommodation services generated VND 9.883 trillion, up 19.4%, while food and beverage services reached VND 22.517 trillion, an increase of 22.5%.
Travel services and tourism support services (excluding reimbursable travel expenses) also maintained stable growth, with estimated revenue reaching VND 2.35 trillion, up 10.4% compared to the same period last year. These figures reflect the sustainable recovery of the tourism sector and the growing preference among travelers for diverse, high-quality, and immersive travel experiences.
With these encouraging results in the first half of the year and a tourism development strategy focused on quality, sustainability, and authentic local values, Da Nang continues to reinforce its position as one of Asia’s leading dynamic destinations. Looking ahead, the city will continue to innovate its tourism offerings, expand international connectivity, and enhance service quality while maintaining its appeal to both international and domestic markets, offering visitors increasingly memorable journeys where every trip is an opportunity to return to the authentic essence of the destination.
