Da Nang – The potential for Golf tourism development

In 2022, to implement the theme “The year of flexible safety response to effectively control the epidemic and regenerate socio-economic development,” Da Nang City has been promoting and exploiting many types of high-quality tourism to attract international visitors.

Meanwhile, with many available advantages, golf tourism has been identified by Da Nang as a type of tourism with high development potential, which is expected to help strongly restore the tourism industry.

Da Nang City owns a diverse terrain, including plains, high mountains, and a coastline stretching 92km. These features are favorable for the development of a variety of golf courses to serve professional tournaments in the world. Besides, airports and seaports in the Da Nang area are now well connected by highways and national highways. This close association contributes to increasing tourism potential for Da Nang, especially golf tourism.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Vice President of the Da Nang Tourism Association, shared, “For Da Nang, we have a very large number of visitors in the Central region as well as in the Southern provinces. At the same time, with the connection of the above destinations, golf tourism in Da Nang will be a product that is expected to help tourism recover quickly.”

Mr. MARK REEVAS, Head of BRG Group, said, “In the last May, BRG Da Nang Golf Resort was selected by the US television channel CNN to be introduced on the program “Living Golf,” contributing to promoting its potential golf development image of Vietnam to international friends. Then, in June, this golf course was honored to be voted by Golf Digest magazine as one of the top 100 best golf courses in the world.

With such advantages, in order to promote golf tourism, Da Nang is preparing to organize the Danang Golf Tourism Festival, taking place from August 28 to September 2, 2022, with many activities such as International seminars on golf tourism development; Food promotion activities; and a Danang tour program for international golfers, in which the focus is the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2022, within the Asian Tour’s Asian Development Golf Tournament system, which will be hosted by the city for 3 consecutive years from 2022 to 2024.
