Michelin Guide Recognizes Da Nang as a Culinary Destination in 2025 [1]

[1] https://guide.michelin.com/us/en/article/travel/best-places-to-eat-in-2025

In January 2025, the Michelin Guide unveiled its list of the Top 10 Must-Visit Destinations for Food Enthusiasts and Explorers 2025, with Da Nang emerging as a shining gem in Asia.

The city made waves with the launch of the Michelin Guide in June 2024, marking its status as Vietnam’s third location recognized by this esteemed culinary authority. Celebrated for its exceptional seafood and rich regional flavors, Da Nang now proudly hosts 36 restaurants and eateries listed in the Michelin Guide, including 16 on the Bib Gourmand list (offering high-quality food at reasonable prices), one Michelin-starred restaurant and one restaurant awarded a Michelin Green Star.

The Michelin Guide encourages visitors to savor local specialties like Mỳ Quảng (Quang Noodles) and bún chả (Kebab Rice Noodles) and to experience iconic establishments such as Nen Danang restaurant, known for its minimalist ambiance, and Madame Lân restaurant, which presents diverse local dishes. Da Nang’s cuisine is a vibrant tapestry of seafood—shrimp, squid, clams, and snails—infused with a delightful mix of street-food charm and refined restaurant elegance.

Beyond its culinary splendor, Da Nang captivates with breathtaking natural beauty, remarkable attractions, and exceptional gastronomy, positioning it as an ideal destination for those seeking food tourism adventures.

The rise of digital nomads—individuals who embrace the freedom to work remotely while traveling—has been truly inspiring in recent years. Thanks to its affordability, stunning landscapes, and rich cultural heritage, Asia has become a captivating destination for these wanderers. Compared to regions like Southern Europe, Latin America, or the Caribbean, Asia shines with its low living costs, safety, and diverse experiences waiting to be discovered.

Da Nang proudly ranks among the Top 5 Affordable Digital Nomad Destinations in Asia for 2025. Travel Off Path reveals a plethora of unmissable experiences in this vibrant city, from the awe-inspiring Ba Na Hills and the iconic Golden Bridge to savoring Sun KraftBeer brewed with Bavarian flair or finding peace at the Linh Ung Pagoda, a breathtaking example of traditional Vietnamese architecture in a tranquil environment. The city’s diversity of experiences is sure to excite any digital nomad.

With pristine beaches like My Khe, the untouched beauty of the Son Tra Peninsula, and the thrill of adventure sports such as paragliding and jet skiing, Da Nang offers digital nomads a perfect blend of energy and relaxation. This city creates an inviting atmosphere that encourages a harmonious balance between work and leisure, ensuring that you can enjoy your work while also taking time to relax and explore.

The cost of living in Da Nang is incredibly affordable for digital nomads, with the average rent for housing being around USD 355.33 (over 9 million VND) per month. A bowl of pho delights is approximately USD 1.58 (over 40,000 VND), and a three-course meal at a fine seaside restaurant is about USD 24.62 (nearly 700,000 VND). This affordability ensures that you can enjoy the culinary delights of Da Nang without breaking the bank.
