Da Nang, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have been revealed in the “Asia’s Best Awards 2022” by readers of the Travel + Leisure magazine.
Travel+Leisure Southeast Asia has just announced the first ever Asia’s Best Awards 2022, offer travel recommendations on destinations, resorts, restaurants … in the area. This list is based on the votes of the magazine’s readers around the world, from January to April this year.
Accordingly, three Vietnamese cities appeared in top 10 cities in Southeast Asia. Da Nang, Hanoi and HCMC were ranked in third, fifth and eighth place, respectively. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, was crown winner of top cities category.
Phu Quoc and Con Dao were ranked fourth and tenth in the top best islands in Southeast Asia. The list also included other popular tourist destinations, namely Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi (Thailand); Langkawi, Penang (Malaysia); Lombok, Bali (Indonesia) and Palawan (Philippines).
In addition, the magazine also celebrates prominent hospitality brands in each country. In particular, Asia’s Best Awards 2022 presented Vietnam’s Top 10 best hotels, restaurants, bars, best hotel pools, best beach/upcountry resorts and best city hotels.
Regarding Vietnam, Travel & Leisure wrote: “Vietnam is up and away. Who would’ve thought in lockdown last year this country would be in a position now to say xin chào to international tourists? While the plan to welcome five million visitors by year’s end might be ambitious, the Vietnamese are sure going to give it a try, with quarantine-free travel and no Covid-19 test requirements for entry… So read about your choices among the winners of the 2022 Asia’s Best Awards, and start looking forward to Pho and cafe sua da in Vietnam.”
