SYDNEY, Australia, October 28, 2026 – The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism hosted the Da Nang Tourism Showcase & Networking Dinner 2026 at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park on the evening of October 28. The event was a key highlight of Da Nang’s tourism promotion campaign in Australia, running from October 24 to 31, 2026, aimed at strengthening destination awareness, fostering business partnerships and unlocking new opportunities for two-way tourism growth between Da Nang and Australia.
Beyond the business networking event, the Da Nang delegation also held meetings with Destination NSW, Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) and the Western Sydney Tourism Taskforce to explore closer cooperation in destination marketing, air connectivity and the development of two-way visitor markets.
Connecting Tourism Partners and Showcasing Da Nang in Sydney

The Da Nang Tourism Showcase & Networking Dinner 2026 welcomed Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Consul-General of Viet Nam in Sydney; representatives of Australian tourism and aviation organisations; Vietnam Airlines; and more than 30 travel agencies, tour operators and tourism partners from Sydney and other parts of Australia.
The Da Nang delegation was led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and included representatives of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center and leading tourism businesses, namely voco Ma Belle Danang by IHG, The Pearl Hoi An, Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills, Ba Na Hills Golf Club, Laguna Lang Co and The Ascott Limited.
The event showcased Da Nang and Central Viet Nam’s tourism potential, destination appeal and signature travel experiences, while providing a platform for direct engagement between tourism businesses from both markets. Through business-to-business (B2B) networking sessions, participants explored market demand, exchanged information on tourism products and distribution channels, discussed tour development and identified opportunities for cooperation tailored to Australian travellers’ preferences.
The presentation highlighted a diverse range of tourism offerings, from beach holidays, luxury accommodation, ecotourism and golf to cultural, heritage and culinary experiences. Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was particularly featured as a destination popular with Australian visitors for its charming ancient town, distinctive cultural identity and authentic Central Vietnamese experiences.
Together, these offerings create appealing itineraries for Australian travellers seeking quality holidays, cultural discovery and extended stays.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasised:
“Australia is one of Da Nang’s most promising international tourism markets. Through this event, we aim not only to introduce the distinctive experiences of Da Nang and Central Viet Nam to Australian travellers, but also to create further opportunities for businesses from both sides to connect, better understand market needs and develop practical tourism partnerships.
“Da Nang stands ready to strengthen engagement with Australian partners on the basis of mutual benefit, with a view to promoting two-way visitor flows and building long-term cooperation.”

Alongside destination presentations and business networking, the evening featured traditional Vietnamese artistic performances, offering international guests a glimpse into Viet Nam’s cultural heritage and adding a memorable cultural dimension to Da Nang’s tourism networking event in Sydney.
Expanding Tourism and Aviation Partnerships in New South Wales
As part of the promotional visit, the Da Nang delegation met with Destination NSW, the government agency responsible for tourism development and destination marketing in New South Wales, on October 26, 2026. Discussions focused on sharing expertise in destination branding, international marketing, market research, tourism product development and data-driven tourism promotion.
Both sides explored opportunities to strengthen market intelligence sharing, facilitate business connections and coordinate promotional activities, familiarisation visits and professional exchanges. The meeting provided Da Nang with valuable opportunities to learn from Australia’s experience in international tourism market development while expanding channels for promoting tourism products between the two destinations.

The delegation also met with representatives of Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) to discuss its development strategy and role in improving air connectivity across the Western Sydney region. With the airport commencing commercial passenger operations on October 25, 2026, engagement with aviation stakeholders opens up opportunities for exchanging market information, understanding travel demand and exploring future tourism connectivity.
In addition, the delegation held discussions with the Western Sydney Tourism Taskforce, building on the partnership established between Da Nang’s tourism sector and the organisation in 2024. The talks focused on strengthening business networks, sharing market insights and identifying opportunities for joint destination promotion, tourism product development and increased visitor exchanges between Da Nang and Western Sydney.
These engagements contribute to expanding Da Nang’s network of tourism partners across New South Wales, while laying the groundwork for tourism authorities, organisations and businesses on both sides to further explore and translate potential areas of cooperation into practical initiatives aligned with market needs and development priorities.
Australia: A Promising Market for Da Nang Tourism
Australia represents a promising international tourism market, with travellers showing diverse interests in beach holidays, golf, cultural and heritage exploration, gastronomy and nature-based experiences. These preferences align closely with Da Nang’s strategy to develop high-quality tourism products, diversify visitor experiences and increase tourism spending.
In the first nine months of 2026, Da Nang welcomed 376,981 Australian visitors, an increase of 43.86% compared with the same period in 2025. This growth highlights the market’s considerable potential while underscoring the importance of continued destination promotion and stronger engagement with travel agencies, distribution partners and aviation stakeholders.
Australian travellers currently have access to Da Nang through a range of connecting routes via regional aviation hubs and major cities in Viet Nam. Against this backdrop, closer cooperation with airlines, travel businesses and tourism organisations is essential to improving destination accessibility, diversifying travel itineraries and supporting further growth in visitor arrivals.

Through the Sydney networking event and meetings with Destination NSW, Western Sydney International Airport and the Western Sydney Tourism Taskforce, Da Nang aims to broaden its partner network and strengthen connections among tourism and aviation stakeholders. These efforts are expected to create further opportunities for joint destination promotion, market development, tourism product innovation and visitor exchanges.
Looking ahead, Da Nang will continue to strengthen promotional activities in high-potential international markets, encourage greater participation from tourism businesses and deepen cooperation with local partners. These initiatives will help enhance Da Nang’s international destination profile, diversify its visitor markets and promote sustainable, mutually beneficial tourism growth between Da Nang and Australia.
