04 things to note when visiting Son Tra Peninsula for the period of November 15, 2019 to February 15, 2020
Son Tra Peninsula is one of the famous and attractive tourist destinations in Da Nang, favored by many domestic and foreign tourists. Visiting Son Tra peninsula is essential when visiting Da Nang, but many visitors still hesitate about the road safety.
To ensure safety for tourists when picnicking or visiting Son Tra Peninsula, on November 2, 2019, the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City issued a Plan to deploy the management and ensure the safety for tourists travelling to Son Tra.
Here are four things to note when visiting Son Tra Peninsula during the period of November 15, 2019 to February 15, 2020:
1. Objects of management and form of control
All those going up and down the Son Tra peninsula (residents and tourists visiting the Son Tra peninsula, households engaging in forest production and production activities located in the area after the shield, photographers, long-term researchers in special-use forests, officials and staff of units based in Son Tra peninsula or tasked to implement in Son Tra peninsula) are granted with card permits through guard posts, specifically as follows:
– Yellow card: for households whose production activities are located in the back guard area, photographers, interns, graduate students who carry out long-term scientific research activities approved by Forrest checkpoint of inter-district Son Tra – Ngu Hanh Son and sent to the Management Board of Son Tra peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches to issue cards.
– Green card (visitor card): for tourists, officials and employees who come to work or have a duty to implement in Son Tra Peninsula during the day.
2. Các tuyến điểm được phép di chuyển, tham quan Bán Đảo Sơn Trà
For vehicles, control and installation of guard stations, at the intersection of Hoang Sa Street (near Bai Bac T-junction to Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula) to the Heritage Banyan tree, vehicles are allowed except motorcycles using automatic transmission.
The route from Yet Kieu Street to Ban Co Peak – Bai Bac, the section from Da Nang Radio and Television Station to Ban Co Peak, vehicles are allowed except motorcycles using automatic transmission and cars of over 24 seats.
For the next ramp from Ban Co Peak to Bai Bac, it is allowed for one-way traffic in the direction from Ban Co Peak to Bai Bac. The authority will set up a guard station, relocate the existing guard station at the T-junction road from Da Nang Radio and Television Station up to 400m in the direction of Vong Canh House to control people, number of vehicles going in and out, issue cards and record entries.
For the route from Yet Kieu to Suoi Om (Om Spring), vehicles are allowed, except motorcycles using automatic transmission and cars of over 24 seats, on traffic from Yet Kieu intersection to Suoi Om and vice versa. The authority will arrange a guard station to control number of people, number of vehicles, going in and out, issue cards and record entries on the route.
For the remaining roads, branch roads, due to the current status of infrastructure not ensuring traffic safety, vehicles are not allowed to travel on these roads (except for means of service for national defense and security, forest protection…).
3.Time for tourism activities: 07h30 – 19h00 daily
Tourists are allowed to picnic and visit on 3 routes in Son Tra peninsula. In particular, from 17h30 barriers will be used to tourists are not allowed to enter.
From 19h00 – 07h30 next day: No activities of picnicking and sightseeing are allowed, except for those that have been licensed by the authorities for implementation.
4. Transit
If you do not have vehicles available, do not worry. The Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula has arranged 3 transit lines to serve tourists traveling to visit the Son Tra Peninsula, departing from the guard stations for visitors using scooters and cars over 24 seats. The transit routes to serve tourists visiting the Son Tra peninsula are as follows:
+ Route 01: (from the intersection of Hoang Sa road to Heritage Bayan Tree): The route starts from the parking lot for APEC – Heritage Banyan Tree and back (Total distance is 09 km). Total trip is 60 minutes (30 minutes transfer and 30-minute stop at Heritage Banyan Tree).
- Departure time daily: 08:30 – 09:30; 10:30 – 11:30; 13h30 – 14h30; 15h30 – 16h30
+ Route 02: (from Yet Kieu intersection to Ban Co Peak – Bai Bac): The route starts from the interchange station at the T-junction of Hoang Sa and Le Duc Tho streets – Vong Canh House – Helicopter Airport (old) – Ban Co peak – Heritage Bayan Tree – Linh Ung Pagoda – interchange station at the T-junction of Hoang Sa and Le Duc Tho streets (Total distance 35km). Total trip is 180 minutes (90 minutes transfer and 15 to 30-minutes at each stop).
- Departure time daily: 08:00 – 11:00; 10:30 – 13:00; 11h30 – 14h30; 14h30 – 17h30
+ Route 03: (from intersection Yet Kieu – Suoi Om road): The route starts from the interchange station at the T-junction of Hoang Sa and Le Duc Tho streets – Red-shanked douc viewing point – Sightseeing point – Red-shanked douc viewing point – Tien Sa T- junction and towards Vong Canh house – the interchange station at the T-junction of Hoang Sa and Le Duc Tho streets (Total distance 32km). Total trip is 130 minutes (75 minutes transfer and 15 to 30-minutes at each stop).
- Departure time daily: 07h30 – 09h40; 15h30 – 17h40
