On October 28th 2021, the Department of Tourism organized the “Program to implement the plan to restore Da Nang tourism activities in the new normal period” in order to gradually restore tourism activities, promote linkages, cooperation and commitment of Da Nang tourism businesses in being ready to welcome tourists back in new safe conditions.
The program to implement the plan to restore Da Nang tourism activities in the new normal period has the participation of leaders of the People’s Committee of Da Nang; Leaders of departments, branches, districts; Leaders of Tourism Association and member associations; Leader of the Tourism Development Promotion Fund; Leaders of the Central Airport Authority; Da Nang International Airport (ACV); Airlines, corporations, tourism businesses and representatives of press agencies.
At the program, the Department of Tourism announced 04 (four) main contents:
(1) The plan to restore the city’s tourism activities in the new situation is under the motto: “Active – adaptive – flexible to effectively restore tourism and ensure safety for tourists, tourism workers and the community”. The plan focuses on 08 key tasks divided into 2 phases: Tasks to be implemented immediately in the last three months of 2021 and long-term tasks to be implemented in the period of 2022-2025.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh – Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism presented the plan to restore tourism activities in the city in the new situation.
(2) The resumption of tourism enterprises’ operation; Guiding service providers to ensure conditions for resumption of operation under the guidance of Resolution 128/NQ-CP on October 11th 2021 of the Government promulgating the temporary regulation “Adapting to safety and flexibility, controlling COVID-19 epidemic effectively” in cultural, sports and tourism activities; Organizing to welcome domestic tourists in 2 phases: restarting tourism activities and services in the city from October 2021 (phase 1) and deploying to serve inter-regional tourists from November 2021 (phase 2).
(3) Implement the plan to welcome international guests according to the plan and approval of the Government, as well as the implementation guidelines of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, relevant ministries. There are 03 phases to be focused on: Pilot phase to welcome international guests according to package tourism programs, through charter flights and regular international trade from November 2021 (phase 1); The phase of expanding the scope to welcome international tourists, connecting destinations through charter flights and regular international trade from January 2022 (phase 2); Full reopening phase for the international tourist market (phase 3).
(4) Da Nang tourism communication plan in the new situation with 2 main messages: “Da Nang Now Open – Đà Nẵng đón bạn trở lại” (Phase 1) and the message “Enjoy Da Nang – Tận hưởng Đà Nẵng” (Phase 2)
At the program, there was also (1) the signing of a memorandum of understanding on digital transformation cooperation in promoting and advertising Da Nang tourism between Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center and Viettel Da Nang – Branch of Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group
In addition, a memorandum of cooperation in restoring and promoting flight routes to Da Nang in the new normal period was also signed between the Da Nang Department of Tourism and the Da Nang Tourism Association, the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Fund, Da Nang International Airport, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company together with other airlines.
Within the framework of the program, a registration ceremony was also held in response to accompanying the restoration of Da Nang tourism development in the new normal phase of business units.
“Restoring and developing tourism is considered an important task to help the city recover economic activities. The city will focus on drastically directing the epidemic prevention and control while mobilizing all resources to support and agree with the tourism industry to effectively implement the plan to restore Da Nang tourism activities in the new normal period”- Mr. Tran Phuoc Son – Vice Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee said.
