The historical relic of the Truong Son Road – Ho Chi Minh Trail consists of 37 notable sites located across 11 provinces: Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam (now Da Nang), Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, and Binh Phuoc.

The Truong Son Road – Ho Chi Minh Trail is a historical relic of outstanding and significant value. Throughout 16 years of tireless construction and heroic combat, the Truong Son Road – Ho Chi Minh Trail was closely associated with the entire course of the resistance war against foreign invasion – the most intense and glorious years of struggle and the greatest victory of the Vietnamese people in the 20th century.
This historic route also functioned as a complete battlefield and a strategic base, playing an essential role in decisive strategic offensives during the resistance war against foreign aggression for national salvation. The Ho Chi Minh Trail was not merely a supply route but a symbol of the entire people’s war of Vietnam.
It can be affirmed that Vietnamese intellect, Vietnamese will, and above all Vietnamese strength, together with the invaluable support of the international community, created this road. It is an invaluable spiritual asset that generations of Vietnamese people must cherish and uphold.
With its exceptional values, the Prime Minister decided to designate the Truong Son Road – Ho Chi Minh Trail (spanning the provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam – now Da Nang, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, and Binh Phuoc) as a Special National Relic under Decision No. 2383/QĐ-TTg dated December 9, 2013.
