Amid the vibrant atmosphere of IRONMAN week in Da Nang, SUNRISE SPRINT Vietnam 2026 unfolded energetically along the city’s coastline, delivering exciting race moments while spreading the spirit of endurance sports to both domestic and international athletes.

SUNRISE SPRINT Vietnam is a short-distance triathlon event within the IRONMAN race week, taking place on May 9, 2026 in Da Nang. The race includes a 750m swim, 20km bike ride, and 5km run. This year’s edition welcomed nearly 300 athletes competing in the coastal city of Da Nang, creating an energetic atmosphere throughout the seaside race routes.

The race started and finished at East Sea Park — one of Da Nang’s iconic public spaces and the central hub of this year’s IRONMAN event week. From scenic coastal cycling segments to running stages under the vibrant early summer sun, SUNRISE SPRINT once again delivered an energetic sporting experience, inspiring athletes to push beyond their limits while showcasing Da Nang’s dynamic identity as a destination for international sporting events and healthy lifestyle communities.

One of the highlights of this year’s event was the appearance of triathlon legend Mark Allen. The six-time IRONMAN World Champion competed in Da Nang for the first time, participating in the swimming leg of the Team Relay category, bringing tremendous inspiration to athletes and endurance sports enthusiasts alike.

The event also featured Nguyễn Thị Trà My — one of Vietnam’s notable triathletes and Sunrise Events Vietnam Ambassador — who joined the swimming leg of the Team Relay category as part of her preparation ahead of the full-distance IRONMAN race on May 10.

This year’s race additionally attracted several prominent figures from the sports and active lifestyle community, including Khả Ngân and runner/trail runner Trần Hồng Nhung, contributing to the youthful and inspiring atmosphere along the course.

In the men’s overall category, 16-year-old athlete Hugo Tan from Malaysia claimed the championship title with a remarkable finishing time of 1 hour 09 minutes 53 seconds, becoming one of the standout athletes of this year’s season. Meanwhile, Emma Haywood from Australia secured the women’s championship title with a time of 1 hour 13 minutes 09 seconds.

In the Men’s Team Relay category, Mark Allen and his teammates earned second place overall, concluding his first competition appearance in Da Nang with memorable highlights.

Closing this year’s season, SUNRISE SPRINT Vietnam 2026 once again affirmed its appeal as a dynamic sporting playground for the triathlon community, while continuing to spread the spirit of endurance sports, positive energy, and the image of Da Nang as a destination for journeys of personal achievement — where every athlete can challenge their limits amid an inspiring coastal setting.
