Da Nang Downtown – one of the most renowned entertainment destinations in Da Nang, bid farewell to the Han River city in September 2025 to transform and embrace an entirely new appearance.

Since its inauguration in 2014, after several name changes, Da Nang Downtown (formerly known as Asia Park) has spent 11 years contributing to the transformation of Da Nang’s appearance. The Sun Wheel, ranked among the world’s top 10, affectionately called the “Eye of Da Nang” by locals, the city gate designed by the renowned architect Bill Bensley, and the thrilling outdoor games of Da Nang Downtown have all become familiar images for many visitors to Da Nang for nearly a decade. From the airplane window, the first and last image that travelers see of the Han River city has always been this gigantic wheel.

Da Nang Downtown has fulfilled its mission during a period when Da Nang has undergone a remarkable transformation to become Asia’s leading festival and event destination. According to the latest announcement from Da Nang Downtown’s management board, the complex will cease operations, bidding farewell to residents and visitors in preparation for a new appearance, promising to create another iconic landmark worthy of the stature of the Han River city.
On August 19, Sun Group, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the international–standard mega project: the Cultural Park of Entertainment, Commercial, and Premium Services Complex (Da Nang Downtown). The project is dedicated to celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
