Hoa Vang confidently supplies farm products to Da Nang as a vital agricultural district. This region boasts unique advantages that have led to the development of exceptional local products under the New Rural Development Program. Among these, the Hoa Ninh Green Pomelo, championed by the Hoa Vang Cooperative, stands out as the region’s signature fruit.
The cultivation of Hoa Ninh Green Pomelo commenced over 15 years ago. However, initial practices lacked scientific farming methods, resulting in variable fruit quality. While pomelo was abundantly grown throughout the district, it had yet to be transformed into a standardized area for high-quality raw materials.
To tackle these challenges head-on, the Hoa Vang Cooperative was founded to unite local farmers, enhance cultivation techniques, and guarantee high-quality, safe pomelos. This initiative has enabled farmers to achieve uniform fruit size, foster consumer trust, and effectively fulfill large-scale market demands.
Despite encountering early setbacks, the cooperative has flourished. It now comprises over 20 dedicated members who cultivate more than 10 hectares of prized pomelo orchards. Not only has it achieved VietGAP certification, but it is also transitioning to organic farming practices.
With their expertise in cultivation and care, Hoa Ninh farmers consistently produce high-yield, premium-quality pomelos. This excellence has earned the OCOP certification, solidifying its status as a recognized specialty of the region. Once an arid landscape at the base of Ba Na Mountain, Hoa Ninh has transformed into a beacon of sustainable agricultural success, with its Green Pomelo emblematic of this remarkable journey.
