The Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day and April 30 – May 1 holiday in 2026 spans several consecutive days, marking one of the most vibrant early-summer travel peaks of the year. This period sees a significant surge in demand for travel, leisure, and experiential tourism nationwide, particularly toward coastal and heritage destinations.
In response, Vietnam Airlines Group (including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and VASCO) has proactively increased capacity across its entire network, offering nearly 1.12 million seats on approximately 5,500 flights—an increase of over 15% compared to the same period last year. Frequencies have been expanded on key trunk routes and major tourism destinations, ensuring seamless connectivity throughout the extended holiday.

Notably, routes connecting Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang—Vietnam’s primary tourism corridors—have seen seat capacity rise by nearly 30% compared to regular levels, while the Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City route has increased by around 12%. At the same time, popular destinations such as Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Hue, and Quy Nhon have also been reinforced with additional frequencies, further enhancing accessibility across the network.

On the international front, Vietnam Airlines Group is expected to operate nearly 1,700 flights with approximately 390,000 seats, representing increases of 13.4% in flights and 14.4% in seat capacity compared to the same period in 2025. These figures reflect a strong recovery and continued growth in international travel demand during the peak season.
Amid this vibrant holiday rhythm, Da Nang emerges as a standout summer destination, with flight frequencies to the city significantly increased. From the moment aircraft descend along the coastline, the journey to Da Nang becomes more than just travel—it is the beginning of a complete holiday experience, where visitors can effortlessly access the sea, heritage, and the rich cultural rhythms of Central Vietnam.
