In a strategic move to enhance destination marketing, broaden its appeal to international visitors, and explore the potential for new air routes, the Da Nang Department of Tourism proudly participated for the first time in the Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair (KITF), which took place in Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan, from April 23 to 25, 2025.
KITF stands as one of Central Asia’s most esteemed and largest tourism fairs, drawing the participation of numerous travel agencies, airlines, and tourism promotion organizations from across the globe. This year’s event marked a significant milestone for Da Nang as it introduced its unique tourism products and services, highlighting the city’s exceptional offerings in resort tourism, entertainment, and cultural experiences to the Kazakhstan market and the greater Central Asian region.
During the fair, the delegation from the Da Nang Department of Tourism engaged in constructive discussions. It explored collaboration opportunities with representatives from the Embassy of Vietnam in Kazakhstan, international travel agencies, airlines, and prospective partners. Both parties expressed a mutual interest in promoting the establishment of direct flight routes between Kazakhstan and Da Nang, thereby enhancing accessibility for Central Asian visitors eager to explore this vibrant, modern, and welcoming coastal city in Vietnam.
Additionally, the Department collaborated with local businesses to curate tailored tourism packages that resonate with the preferences of the Kazakhstan market. These offerings were showcased during the fair, complemented by promotional materials and videos in Russian, presented at both the exhibition booth and networking sessions attended by over 800 travel companies.
Currently, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is recognized as a significant potential source market for Da Nang, with an anticipated influx of approximately 10,000 visitors each month via existing charter flight services:
– Charter flights from Astana and Almaty (Kazakhstan) to Da Nang, operated by Crystal Bay, Rustar Tour, and Vietjet Air (March 30 – October 25, 2025) at a frequency of 4 flights per week;
– Anex Tour and Azur Air (April 10 – October 17, 2025) offering 4 flights per week;
– Selfie Travel and Scat Airlines (starting April 10, 2025) providing 2 weekly flights.
– A charter flight from Tashkent (the Republic of Uzbekistan), operated by Centrum-Air Airways, officially commenced on April 27, 2025, with a frequency of 1 flight per week.
The participation in KITF not only opens new avenues for trade and tourism promotion for Da Nang within an evolving market but also underscores the city’s steadfast dedication to diversifying its international source markets and fostering the sustainable recovery and development of its tourism sector.
