As part of the Da Nang Food Tour Festival 2026, the culinary parade “Carrying the Flavors of Da Nang” officially took place at 4:30 PM on May 20, 2026, along My Khe Beach and the coastal tourism streets of Da Nang City. The event is considered one of the most distinctive and innovative highlights of this year’s festival season, offering a creative approach to promoting local culinary culture by bringing traditional street vendors, familiar hawker calls, and the rhythm of everyday life into a vibrant modern festival setting.

A UNIQUE HIGHLIGHT OF DA NANG FOOD TOUR FESTIVAL 2026

More than simply a parade, “Carrying the Flavors of Da Nang” was designed as an immersive cultural experience, allowing residents and visitors to directly engage with the lively atmosphere of Quang-style street food culture. Against the sunset backdrop of My Khe Beach, more than 70 traditional shoulder-pole vendors walked along the sandy shore, weaving through crowds accompanied by familiar street cries, recreating rustic images deeply rooted in the memories of generations in Central Vietnam.

A distinctive feature of the program lies in its combination of artistic parade performances and open-air interactive culinary experiences — a model still relatively new to tourism and food festivals in Vietnam today. As a result, the festival space became not only a place to enjoy local delicacies but also a venue where visitors could truly experience the sounds, sights, and vibrant rhythm of coastal local life.

The program featured a variety of themed culinary groups, including “Memory Lane,” “Hometown Flavors,” “Coastal Streets,” “Green Mountains,” “Three Regions,” “Five Continents,” “Refreshing & Sweet,” and “Take Home Da Nang.” From Quang noodles (Mi Quang), Cao Lau, banh xeo, seafood, and specialties from Quang’s mountainous regions to Japanese sushi, Mexican tacos, and Italian pizza, each culinary “basket” represented a unique cultural story, contributing to a journey of exchange between local cuisine, regional Vietnamese gastronomy, and international culinary traditions.

Another impressive highlight was the cyclo parade traveling through Da Nang’s coastal tourism streets. Decorated with traditional culinary shoulder poles, the cyclos moved along central routes accompanied by lively sounds and familiar vendor calls, creating a vivid “cultural flow” within the modern coastal cityscape.

Through the culinary parade “Carrying the Flavors of Da Nang,” the city aims to honor the culinary heritage of Quang culture in a creative, accessible, and experiential manner, while continuing to promote Da Nang as an attractive destination for festivals, events, and gastronomy in the region.

Da Nang Food Tour Festival 2026 is an annual city-scale cultural, culinary, and tourism event taking place from May 20 to May 24, 2026, at East Sea Park, Tam Thanh Beach Square, and various locations across the city. Featuring a diverse range of creative and interactive activities, the festival is expected to further establish a distinctive identity for Da Nang tourism while reinforcing the image of Da Nang as a dynamic, innovative, and appealing coastal city on the regional festival and culinary tourism map.
