Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City remain the two most-searched destinations in Vietnam among European travelers for the second consecutive year, according to the latest data from digital travel platform Agoda. The results further highlight Da Nang’s sustained appeal to the European market, particularly during the peak summer travel season.

Agoda recently released its latest ranking of European travelers’ interest in Asian destinations for summer 2026. The data is based on accommodation searches conducted on the platform between April and June 2026 for trips taking place in July and August 2026.
According to the data, Vietnam moved up one position from the same period last year to become the fourth most-searched Asian destination among European travelers for summer 2026. Thailand retained the top spot, followed by Indonesia and Japan.
Vietnam ranks among the top four Asian destinations for European travelers
In addition to improving its overall ranking, Vietnam was also among the top three Asian destinations recording the fastest year-on-year growth in searches from the European market.
Among the top 20 destinations, India recorded the highest annual growth in searches at 14%, followed by South Korea at 13% and Vietnam at 12%. The results indicate that European travelers are increasingly broadening their choices to Asian destinations offering a wide range of travel experiences.
July and August are traditionally the peak summer travel months for the European market. Against the backdrop of heatwaves affecting several European countries from the beginning of the season, destinations offering beaches, islands, natural landscapes and a diverse range of tourism products are attracting growing interest.

By source market, Germany rose to the top in terms of accommodation searches for Vietnam, overtaking France, which ranked first during the same period last year. The United Kingdom remained in third place, followed by the Netherlands in fourth, while Russia completed the top five European markets searching for travel to Vietnam.
Notably, interest in Vietnam also increased rapidly across several emerging markets. Azerbaijan recorded the strongest growth, with accommodation searches rising by 177% year on year, followed by Poland at 66% and Sweden at 55%.
Vietnam’s growing tourism brand visibility, more favorable visa policies and an expanding international air network are considered important factors supporting destination accessibility and stimulating travel demand from European markets.

Da Nang continues to stand out in European travelers’ searches
Within Vietnam, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City remained the two most-searched destinations among European travelers for the second consecutive year. Nha Trang moved up to third place, completing the top three most-searched destinations.
Da Nang’s continued presence among the most-searched destinations in Vietnam reflects the city’s sustained appeal to one of the country’s important international visitor markets, characterized by relatively high spending power and diverse travel interests.
One of Da Nang’s key advantages is its ability to combine multiple types of tourism within a single journey, from beach holidays and nature exploration to cultural and heritage experiences, cuisine and a vibrant modern urban lifestyle. Its beaches, Son Tra Peninsula, Marble Mountains, Dragon Bridge, together with a year-round calendar of events, festivals and tourism experiences, offer a wide range of options suited to European travelers’ preference for longer stays and more in-depth exploration.

Growing interest from the European market also creates opportunities for Da Nang to further strengthen its presence on international travel platforms, develop communication content aligned with European travelers’ search behavior and preferences, and showcase the destination’s distinctive experiences more effectively.
These experiences are also being introduced to international travelers through the Da Nang Travel Guide on Agoda, featuring recommendations for attractions, activities, accommodation and suggested itineraries for exploring the city.
Da Nang expands comprehensive cooperation with international OTA platforms
Alongside communications through its official channels, Da Nang’s tourism sector has continued to expand cooperation with online travel agencies (OTAs), helping the destination reach more international visitors and promote its tourism products, experiences and destination image across key target markets.
In 2026, one of the notable initiatives has been Da Nang’s collaboration with Agoda to develop the Da Nang Travel Guide, showcasing the city’s attractions, activities, festivals, beaches and accommodation options. The guide has been featured by Agoda in its Special Edition section and is currently being introduced directly to international users on the platform.
The content has been developed in line with the destination communication theme “Chạm về nguyên bản – Return to Origins”, with versions available in Vietnamese, English, Korean, Thai, Japanese, Hindi and other languages, enabling travelers to conveniently discover Da Nang’s destinations, experiences and distinctive characteristics directly through Agoda.
Da Nang’s continued position among the most-searched Vietnamese destinations among European travelers, together with Vietnam’s rise to fourth place among Asian destinations, represents a positive signal for the city’s international visitor attraction efforts. It also provides a basis for Da Nang to further strengthen digital communications, expand cooperation with online travel platforms and develop market-specific content, with the aim of increasing destination awareness and converting traveler interest into actual journeys to Da Nang.
