On the evening of July 23, 2026, as part of Enjoy Danang Festival 2026, Da Nang will present a large-scale immersive performance created exclusively for the coastal setting of My Khe Beach.
For the first time, an immersive production will be staged directly by the sea, drawing upon the natural beauty of one of the city’s most iconic beaches to create a unique artistic experience for residents and visitors.
The programme has received creative consultation from distinguished artistic talents of Quang Nam and Da Nang who have contributed to the success of immersive productions recognised by industry experts as among the most visually stunning in the world. Their profound understanding of local culture, combined with extensive experience in staging large-scale outdoor performances, has helped shape an artistic work designed especially for Da Nang’s coastline.
The performance space is inspired by the image of a sail reaching towards the open sea, symbolising the region’s long-standing journey of connection and trade, as well as its aspirations to venture further into the world.
Within this setting, audiences will not simply watch an artistic performance. They will be guided on a journey through the culture, history and people of the Quang region, expressed through the languages of music, light and choreographed movement.
From a River to the Story of an Entire Region
Inspired by the cultural currents of the Quang region, the programme begins with the image of a single drop of water at the source of the Thu Bon River—a river that has nurtured the life, culture and distinctive values of this land for generations.
Following the river’s journey, audiences will gradually discover stories of rural villages, traditional craft communities, the ancient trading port of Hoi An—once a major hub of international commerce—coastal fishing villages closely connected to the open sea, and the development of present-day Da Nang as a dynamic, creative and internationally connected city.
The journey from the river to the open sea also reflects the transformation of an entire region, where traditional values continue to flow into modern life, shaping the distinctive identity of Quang Nam and Da Nang.
