Da Nang decided to waive the fee for visiting the Marble Mountains and cultural works and museums of the city, the period of application is 3 months, from June 1st to August 31st, 2020.
At the 14th (extraordinary) meeting on May 22, Da Nang City Council Session IX, term 2016 – 2021 universally agreed the Resolution on exemption of fees for visiting the Marble Mountains and the city’s museums in 3 months.
According to Vice Chairman of Danang People’s Committee Tran Van Mien, up to now, the epidemic situation in Danang in particular, the country in general has been well controlled. In order to stimulate tourism, gradually revive the activities of the tourism and auxiliary industries, the promulgation of a Resolution stipulating the exemption of fees for visiting sightseeing places of Marble Mountain – Special national monument, as well as free access to cultural buildings and museums in the city is essential.
Under the provisions of the Law on Fees and Charges, the competence of fee collection for visiting the Marble Mountains and cultural works and museums in Danang City is under the jurisdiction of the City People’s Council.
Based on the Statement of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, at the 14th (extraordinary) meeting this morning (May 22), Da Nang City People’s Council agreed to waive the fee for visiting the Marble Mountains, other cultural buildings and museum of the city including Museum of Cham sculpture, Museum of Danang and Da Nang Fine Arts Museum for domestic and foreign tourists.
The period of application is 3 months, from June 1 to August 31, 2020.
Da Nang City People’s Council assigned the Department of Finance according to the proposal of the Department of Culture – Sports and the Ngu Hanh Son District People’s Committee on the results of collection – expenses for visiting, the situation of the activities of the above-mentioned units in 3 continuos years (2017 – 2019), was responsible for checking and submitting to the City People’s Committee for approval in accordance with current regulations from the state budget, unit funding and other lawful funding sources.
Immediately after the above decision of the City People’s Council this morning, May 22, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Danang Department of Tourism shared: “The purpose of the free entrance to the Marble Mountains, cultural sites and museums in Da Nang area is to raise tourist arrivals and subsequently boost the city’s socio-economic development; meanwhile, create a competitive product package for regional destinations; thereby stimulating travel businesses to build products to bring tourists to Da Nang; indirectly support and relieve difficulties for service enterprises, tourism and auxiliary businesses in the tourism industry (such as trade and transportation …). “
