On December 9, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Danang City held a press conference to officially announce the Danang New Year Festival 2026, promising to bring a vibrant, colorful, and multi-experience festive season.
The Danang New Year Festival 2026 is an annual city-level cultural and tourism event featuring a wide range of new, attractive, and distinctive cultural, artistic, tourism, and entertainment activities. The festival takes place over five days (from December 30, 2025 to January 3, 2026) at the East Side Park of Dragon Bridge (the area of Tran Hung Dao – Ly Nam De streets), Bach Dang Walking Street, Hoi An, Tam Thanh Beach Park, the 24/3 Square, and various other locations throughout the city.
The festival is organized to diversify tourism products, enhance visitor experiences, stimulate tourism demand for Danang, create recreational and entertainment spaces, and open a vibrant beginning for the year 2026.
Highlight and unique activities at the Danang New Year Festival 2026:
The New Year 2026 check-in model series (from December 20, 2025 to January 3, 2026) features four unique check-in spaces:
(1) The Radiant Christmas Space with a 20-meter Christmas tree, color-changing LED system, and festive miniatures such as Santa Claus, reindeer sleigh, candy canes, snow houses, snowmen… arranged at the northern landscape platform on the East Side of Dragon Bridge, An Hai Ward;
(2) The New Year Melody Space, located at the northern landscape platform on the West Side of Dragon Bridge (opposite VTV8, Hai Chau Ward), designed with stylized trumpet-shaped structures, creating the image of a brilliant symphony to open the festive season;
(3) The Hoi An Colors Space, created from vibrant traditional lanterns, placed at An Hoi Sculpture Garden (Nguyen Phuc Chu Street, Hoi An Ward);
(4) The Golden Danang Space, highlighted by the 3D “I ♥ Da Nang” installation combined with stylized yellow floral motifs, located at 24/3 Square, Ban Thach Ward.
These spaces are considered outstanding highlights, bringing a sparkling beauty and lively festive atmosphere for residents and visitors to enjoy and capture memorable moments.
Promoting Danang’s beach tourism: From early 2026 to August 2026, Danang will simultaneously “refresh” the appearance of its beach tourism with a series of check-in models stretching across the city’s major beaches. These spaces are designed in a youthful, modern style, highlighting the distinctive beauty of each beach—from the vibrancy of East Sea Park, the tranquility of Ha Khe, to the cultural hues of An Bang, Cua Dai, or Tam Thanh.
The outstanding highlight of this year’s Festival is the “Danang – Welcome New Year 2026 Avenue,” taking place over three nights from December 30, 2025 to January 1, 2026 on the Bach Dang Walking Street. The avenue space is recreated as a “creative festival axis,” where sound, light, and art blend to form a bustling atmosphere welcoming the new year.
Along the avenue, three open artistic spaces are arranged, allowing visitors to freely explore in their own way. “New Year Dance” features a youthful vibe with hip-hop, dance sport, zumba, and stepdance performances, creating an energetic rhythm for the festival. “New Year Colors” is an interactive creative zone where visitors can write wishes, experience lantern activities, enjoy street magic, or check in with themed installations. Meanwhile, “New Year Harmony” opens a musical space of connection, gathering Vietnamese and international bands along with harmonies from traditional instruments, creating a refined and diverse artistic ambiance.
With the harmonious combination of artistic – creative – entertainment clusters, the “Danang – Welcome New Year 2026 Avenue” will transform Bach Dang Walking Street into a rendezvous for community connection, where residents and visitors come together to immerse themselves in the vibrant festive spirit and joyfully welcome a new year full of hope.
For the first time in Danang, a large-scale night run will be organized within the framework of the New Year Festival 2026. The race “Lighting Up the Han River – Run to the Future” will take place from 22:00 to 24:00 on December 31, 2025. With a distance of about 5 km, the running route guides participants from Bach Dang Walking Street, admiring the shimmering beauty of Danang on the Dragon Bridge, joining the vibrant atmosphere along Tran Hung Dao Street, crossing Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, and finishing in the joyful atmosphere of the New Year’s transition moment. The race not only offers an experiential journey but also spreads the spirit of sportsmanship to step into the new year with more health and happiness. It is expected to attract a large number of domestic and international professional and amateur runners, along with residents and visitors immersing themselves in the excited atmosphere to welcome 2026.
The Danang New Year Festival 2026 opens with the opening ceremony and vibrant art performances at the East Side Park of Dragon Bridge (Tran Hung Dao – Ly Nam De area), An Hai Ward, at 19:00 on December 30, 2025. The program is staged with modern sound, lighting, and visual effects, combined with impressive artistic performances by artists, singers, bands/groups, and dancers. All elements blend to create a youthful, captivating, and emotional atmosphere, kicking off a festive season full of excitement to welcome the new year 2026.
The Cheer Fest – Connecting Joy culinary space (17:00–22:00, from December 30, 2025 to January 3, 2026) at the East Side Park of Dragon Bridge (Tran Hung Dao – Ly Nam De area) offers a variety of attractive culinary experiences:
(1) A space for local, regional, and international cuisine, highlighted by BBQ food stalls;
(2) A space for enjoying international craft beer;
(3) A space for displaying and shopping for handicrafts and New Year souvenirs;
(4) A space for enjoying and experiencing coffee and ice-cream making.
Cheer Fest promises to bring an energetic atmosphere, connecting the community through diverse flavors and distinctive culinary discoveries during the vibrant festive days.
A series of artistic performance programs:
The countdown art program “Hòa âm tỏa sáng” (from 21:00 on December 31, 2025) at Tam Thanh Beach Square, Quang Phu Ward: The countdown night promises to be explosive with the participation of renowned artists, bands, DJs, and modern dance groups, combined with stage effects and a vibrant countdown moment. This will be a radiant and captivating festive space, offering residents and visitors exciting and emotional moments during the transition to the new year 2026.
The art program “Hoi An – Welcome New Year 2026” (from 20:30 on December 31, 2025 to 00:30 on January 1, 2026) at An Hoi Sculpture Garden, Hoi An Ward, features artistic performances and modern–traditional musical combinations; a costume showcase representing images and attire of various countries; DJ performances; and interactions with clubs, bands, and dance groups… bringing to the Hoi An Ancient Quarter a vibrant, colorful atmosphere to bid farewell to 2025 and welcome 2026 with joy.
The art program Da Nang Concert 2026 – “Dòng chảy bất tận” (from 20:00 on January 1, 2026) at the Danang Museum (42 Bach Dang, Hai Chau Ward) will be a special highlight on the first day of the new year 2026, featuring an impressive performance by a contemporary symphony orchestra and famous works of Vietnam and the world with Vietnam’s top opera vocalist, creating a deep, romantic musical space that spreads cultural values and connects emotions.
The nightly art performance program themed “Welcome New Year 2026” takes place from 19:00–22:00 on December 31, 2025 – January 3, 2026 at the Cheer Fest – Connecting Joy space, East Side Park of Dragon Bridge (Tran Hung Dao – Ly Nam De area, An Hai Ward). Each night, residents and visitors will immerse themselves in a youthful, vibrant musical atmosphere featuring energetic performances by bands, music groups, and DJs. The festive space becomes even more radiant and complete as guests enjoy distinctive cuisine while indulging in music in the joyful ambiance of the New Year celebration.
The welcoming program for the first flights and trains bringing visitors to Danang on January 1, 2026 features special welcome activities such as traditional art performances, flower presentations, and souvenir gifts at Danang International Airport, Chu Lai Airport, Tien Sa Port, and the Hoi An Ancient Quarter.
In addition, in response to and accompanying the Festival, tourism, service, accommodation, and culinary businesses; tourist areas and attractions; transportation units; airlines; and event organizers in Danang deploy incentive and promotional programs for the New Year period, contributing to stimulating consumption, enhancing destination appeal during the year-end festive season; decorating according to the “Welcome New Year 2026” theme and illuminating their establishments at the New Year’s moment on January 1, 2026 to start the year brightly and energetically.
Connection activities: On this occasion, many artistic programs, shows, and entertainment activities across districts and tourist areas of the city will be organized and interconnected throughout the Festival, such as:
– The Light Music Festival (Countdown) at East Sea Park, themed Tet tấn tới – Multi-dimensional Laser Mega Show, from 19:00 on December 31, 2025;
– Street dance parties, street music, bài chòi folk singing performances, wind ensemble shows, and youth art playgrounds (folk dance, street dance, hip-hop…), taking place along both sides of the Han River and community spaces across the city.
At the same time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinates large-scale shopping and consumption stimulus activities to amplify the Festival’s impact, including:
– Danang Year-End Promotion Season 2025 – Mega Sale Year End – Da Nang 2025 (December 1, 2025 – January 18, 2026), encouraging businesses, manufacturers, and distributors citywide to organize promotions and discount activities.
– Brand-name Promotion Festival – Mega Sale Holiday Danang 2025 (December 11–14, 2025 at Furama Resort Danang) with more than 100 booths displaying and selling branded products from Vietnamese and international enterprises in Vietnam.
– Exhibition “Vietnamese Goods Confidence – Made in Danang” (December 18–20, 2025 at Danang Exhibition Fair Center).
With a series of meaningful and attractive activities, the Danang New Year Festival 2026 is not only a cultural–entertainment event but also a message of innovation, creativity, and the spirit of integration of Danang City.
