Da Nang Welcomes First Flight from Russia (Vladivostok) – Launching International Visitor Operations for Summer 2026
Da Nang, April 16, 2026
On April 16, 2026, Da Nang officially welcomed its first flight from the Russian market, operated by ANEX VIETNAM TRADING AND TOURISM CO., LTD. in coordination with VietJet Air. Flight VJ7989 from Vladivostok (Russian Federation) brought 220 international passengers to the city, marking an important milestone in the recovery and expansion of the Russian market – one of Da Nang’s key strategic visitor segments.

A welcoming ceremony was held at the International Terminal T2 of Da Nang International Airport, attended by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Da Nang, along with representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang, Da Nang International Airport, Airport Customs Branch, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company, ANEX Vietnam, and other related stakeholders. The event featured vibrant activities such as lion dances, flower and souvenir presentations, photo sessions, and the introduction of Da Nang tourism publications. Visitors expressed their delight at the warm reception and shared their excitement to explore the city’s attractions, services, and distinctive culinary offerings.
According to the latest plan, in 2026, ANEX Vietnam is expected to bring approximately 60,000 visitors from Russia and CIS countries to Da Nang, focusing on the period from April 16 to October 30, 2026, with an average stay of at least nine nights per visitor. The total frequency is projected at around 40 flights per month, contributing significantly to the increase in international arrivals during the peak travel season.
Amid the strong recovery of Vietnam’s tourism industry, Russia and the CIS region are identified as strategic source markets, known for their long stays, high spending, and stable visitor flow. In the first three months of 2026, Da Nang welcomed approximately 2.3 million international visitors, of which more than 100,000 were from Russia and CIS countries, accounting for around 4.35%. The city aims for a growth rate of 30–40% in 2026, with continued expansion in this market segment.

In recent months, Da Nang’s tourism sector has actively promoted the destination in Russia and CIS through participation in the MITT International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (March 11–13, 2026) – the region’s largest travel trade event – where Da Nang was recognized as a highly attractive destination by international media. In parallel, a tourism promotion campaign on the Yango ecosystem is being implemented from April to June 2026. The city has also coordinated with travel companies such as Anex, Crystal Bay, airlines, and tourism businesses to organize famtrip delegations from Russia and CIS to survey tourism services in Da Nang.
The expansion of air routes from Russia and CIS not only diversifies Da Nang’s international visitor markets but also serves as a key driver to reinforce the city’s position as a leading destination in the Asia–Pacific region.
