In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports, in partnership with dedicated collaborators, warmly invites you to the art exhibition “Vọng”. This heartfelt event will occur from April 23 to April 26, 2025, at the Da Nang Museum, 42–44 Bach Dang Street in Hai Chau District, Da Nang City.
The exhibition will showcase over 70 beautiful artworks created by over 30 talented artists, painters, and architects. Over four days, we aim to provide a rich and immersive experience, bringing together augmented reality technology, installation art, and sketches that celebrate our city’s iconic heritage sites.
- Installation space “Echoes of Bai Choi”
Drawing inspiration from the beloved traditional Bai Choi art form, this heartfelt installation recreates 30 Bai Choi cards using accessible materials like wood, plywood, bamboo, and paper. Each card is thoughtfully adorned with modern graphic designs that beautifully highlight the unique elements of the original cards, enlarged for greater visual impact. The layout is arranged in gentle, layered circular patterns. It is complemented by a soothing soundscape, inviting visitors to meander through a tranquil “Bai Choi memory garden”. Some cards even include QR codes, offering an excellent opportunity for audiences to engage more deeply and discover the rich history of the Bai Choi art form.
“Echoes of Bai Choi” is designed to touch the heart, evoking cultural connections, shared memories, and a refreshing visual experience that honors this cherished folk game along the poetic Han River.
- Interactive space “Vọng Cảnh AR” or “Echoed Scenes AR”
This space lovingly draws inspiration from traditional craft villages and the rich tapestry of tangible and intangible cultural heritages. It aims to honor the memories and spiritual practices of the city’s residents, reflecting the profound harmony that exists between Da Nang’s people and their natural surroundings. By incorporating Augmented Reality (AR) technology – complete with images, sounds, and motion – visitors are invited to experience an engaging and immersive journey. “Vọng Cảnh AR” is more than just a storytelling medium; it serves as a heartfelt bridge for the younger generation, encouraging them to explore and connect with their local culture in a vibrant, contemporary, and emotionally resonant way.
- Exhibition space “Da Nang Heritage through Sketches”
The exhibition showcases over 50 colorful sketches that capture the beauty of Da Nang city from various perspectives. This collection highlights Da Nang’s iconic monuments and architectural landmarks and conveys a deep emotional resonance and a rich sense of history.
More than just an art display, this area serves as a welcoming communal space for appreciation, exchange, and shared passion. It aims to ignite pride and foster a sense of responsibility in preserving and promoting Da Nang’s cultural heritage among everyone who visits.
