OPENING CEREMONY OF DANANG CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR FESTIVAL 2025
On December 20, 2024, the Danang Christmas and New Year Festival 2025 (Danang X’mas – New Year Festival 2025) will officially light up the Northern Landscape Platform on the East Bank of Dragon Bridge. This vibrant celebration, with all necessary safety measures in place, will bring together a rich array of cultural, artistic, tourism, and entertainment activities, creating a magical experience for locals and visitors during this joyous season.
The festival will commence with the stunning ‘Lighting of the Christmas Tree’ ceremony, followed by a captivating variety show performed by talented international artists from Sun World Ba Na Hills. This global collaboration will be accompanied by a spirited group dance by children, radiating joy and energy, creating a sense of unity among all attendees.
As the night unfolds, the ‘Parade with Santa Claus’ will invite everyone to join in the festivities at 8:00 PM along Bach Dang Walking Street. Over 700 passionate dancers will take part, embodying the spirit of Christmas as Santa Claus, Snow Queens, and reindeer in a whimsical parade. The presence of Miss International 2024, Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, alongside the international performers from Sun World Ba Na Hills, will foster connection and engagement among all attendees, making everyone feel part of this grand celebration.
Starting from the Binh Minh 7 – Bach Dang intersection, the parade will weave its way along Bach Dang Walking Street, with enchanting dance performances at key intersections such as Binh Minh 6, Binh Minh 4, APEC Park, and the “2025” letter model. The parade will culminate at the Lighted Christmas Tree, where an atmosphere of celebration will flourish as performers share interactive dances and festive activities, spreading joy and inspiration throughout the community.
The Danang Christmas and New Year Festival 2025 will host numerous unique and exciting cultural, artistic, tourism, and recreational activities along both banks of the Han River (near Dragon Bridge), centered around the theme of welcoming Christmas and the New Year:
Christmas and New Year Check-in Spaces (December 16, 2024 – January 2, 2025):
A stunning Lighted Christmas Tree on the Northern Platform, West Bank of Dragon Bridge (opposite VTV8).
A giant, uniquely designed gift box on the Northern Platform, East Bank of Dragon Bridge.
A vibrant “2025” letter installation on the Southern Platform, West Bank of Dragon Bridge (opposite the Museum of Cham Sculpture).
Christmas and New Year Market (5:00 PM – 10:30 PM, December 20, 2024 – January 2, 2025):
Located at the East Park of Dragon Bridge, which is on the East Bank of the Dragon Bridge, the market features: A culinary space offering over 100 traditional Vietnamese and international dishes.
Souvenirs, Christmas decorations, and locally crafted OCOP products.
A unique “Mulled Wine Experience,” where visitors can learn to prepare and savor this traditional holiday drink.
Entertainment and Workshop Space (7:00 PM – 10:00 PM, December 20, 2024 – January 2, 2025): Activities include crafting velvet wire and scented candles, decorating tote bags, and making New Year greeting cards. Competitions like Christmas tree decoration, Santa Claus cosplay, candy cane relay, and treasure hunts.
Nightly Art Performances (8:00 PM – 10:00 PM, December 20, 2024 – January 2, 2025): Featuring Christmas and New Year-themed performances and DJ shows on Dec 20, 24, and 31.
Special Christmas Eve Gift-Giving Program (5:30 PM, December 24, 2024): Santa Claus will distribute over 3,000 gifts in a heartwarming event filled with interactive games and vibrant Christmas music.
