From 22 to 25 September 2026, corresponding to the 12th to the 15th days of the eighth lunar month, Hoi An Ancient Town will come alive with a series of activities recalling the traditional Mid-Autumn Festivals of years gone by. It is an ideal choice for visitors wishing to combine a leisurely walk through the old streets with heritage discovery and hands-on cultural experiences cherished by generations of Hoi An residents.
At the Museum of Folk Culture, 33 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, a photo exhibition and display dedicated to the traditional Thien Cau dance will take place from 22 to 25 September, offering visitors an insight into one of Hoi An’s distinctive Mid-Autumn folk performances. The experiential space will also feature lantern-making, Thien Cau and paper-mask decoration, along with traditional games such as o an quan, clay-pot breaking and stilt walking, as well as lantern riddles and treasure hunts.

At 19:00 on 23 and 25 September, the “Music and Moonlight” programme at the Museum of Sa Huynh Culture, 149 Tran Phu Street, will bring audiences closer to Vietnamese folk songs, children’s rhymes and the distinctive sounds of traditional musical instruments. Meanwhile, from 18:30 to 21:00 on 24 September, “Hoi An Ancient Town Night” will recreate the daily life of local residents in the early 20th century through poetry recitals, classical Vietnamese theatre, folk singing, traditional martial arts, Chinese chess, folk games, bai choi and calligraphy.
Visitors can begin their journey in the late afternoon, stop by the museums for hands-on craft activities, enjoy local cuisine and then wander through the ancient streets as lanterns glow and traditional melodies fill the heritage setting.
Discover a Moonlit Wonderland atop Ba Na Hills
From 15 to 25 September, Sun World Ba Na Hills presents “Season of Reunion – Joy Across the Land – Luminous Nights, Endless Delight”, transforming a journey through the mountains into a moonlit celebration filled with scenic installations, art, cuisine and family-friendly activities.
The Giant Moon Garden will welcome visitors from 15 September at the Moon Garden and Moon Castle, featuring themed landscapes and photo spots inspired by an enchanting moonlit wonderland. From 23 to 25 September, visitors can take photos at a Mid-Autumn-themed photobooth set within the LSR Vietnamese Dragon art space, enjoy a welcoming lion dance at Truong Lang and accompany children as they receive lanterns at the Arrival Station. A total of 1,500 lanterns is expected to be presented to young visitors over the three-day period.
The Mid-Autumn experience at Ba Na Hills also extends to its culinary offerings. From 19 to 25 September, the Four Seasons area will serve mooncakes and traditional festive treats, while Le Petrin and Rosa Sky Coffee will introduce tea and mooncake sets. Eric Kayser will present a Mooncake High Tea featuring signature French pastries, savoury bites, sweets, tea and ice cream. At Bulgogi Restaurant, a VND 300,000 Chuseok set menu with a complimentary mooncake will be available from 21 September to 5 October.
From 21 to 30 September, Korean visitors will receive a VND 50,000 discount on admission tickets and ticket-and-dining packages. The “FIRST 18–25” programme, available until 31 December, offers special prices for visitors aged 18 to 25, including a cable car ticket at VND 500,000, a cable car ticket and dining voucher package at VND 750,000, and a cable car ticket and lunch buffet package at VND 800,000.
Eligible cable car tickets also include a visit to Ba Na Brew House with two complimentary 250 ml glasses of Sun KraftBeer, together with a visit to the Eric Kayser bakery at Ba Na Hills and one complimentary French pastry. Free return bus services between central Da Nang and Ba Na Hills are also available until 31 December, making it more convenient for visitors to plan a day trip.
Follow the Thien Cau during “Moonlight over the Trading Port”
From 18 to 25 September 2026, Hoian Memories Land will recreate the atmosphere of a traditional Mid-Autumn Festival in an ancient trading port through the “Moonlight over the Trading Port” programme. The large-scale “Trading Port Moon” installation, glowing lantern spaces and appearances by the Moon Lady, Cuoi and familiar folk characters create an inviting setting for families with young children.
Alongside a series of mini shows featuring lion dances, music, dance and folk arts, visitors can join mooncake- and lantern-making workshops, follow the Thien Cau in a lantern procession, enjoy a festive feast at the trading port, write wishes and release flower lanterns onto Lien Hoa Lake as a prayer for peace. Bringing these activities together within one setting creates a celebration that is both lively and reflective, allowing families to share meaningful moments beneath the moon.
