Da Nang, June 21, 2025 – Over 10,000 spectators were drawn to the grandeur of the DIFF 2025 grandstand, with hundreds of thousands more tuning into the breathtaking display above the Han River during the fourth night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival. With the highest number of fireworks showcased in the qualifiers, the evening was a cascade of emotions, featuring stunning performances by teams from Portugal and the United Kingdom.
Embracing the theme “Sustainable Development”, this unforgettable night—co-organized by the Da Nang People’s Committee and sponsored by Sun Group—captivated the audience with its vibrant artistry and poignant storytelling, harmoniously blending European pyrotechnic techniques with heartfelt global messages.
PORTUGAL’S DEBUT: A ROCK SYMPHONY FOR A GREENER TOMORROW
As a new entrant to DIFF, Portugal’s Macedos Pirotecnia – steeped in nearly a century of fireworks excellence – transformed the Han River sky into a breathtaking spectacle, opening with the electrifying “Rock You Like A Hurricane” by Scorpions. The resonating lyrics “Here I am” ignited bursts of fiery light that mirrored the fierce rhythm, pulling the audience into a whirlwind of sound and wonder. It felt as though the grandstand was caught in a sea of guitars, drums, and pyrotechnics.
Then came a breathtaking transition. As “Thuong Qua Viet Nam” floated through the air, a Vietnamese classic that resonated with the local audience, fireworks bloomed like sunrays, lighting up the sky with birds formed from light. The performance took a tender, reflective turn, beautifully evoking love for nature and hope for a greener planet.
Portugal’s set then swelled into an emotional symphony with renditions of Lusitana Paixão, Rio Favo de Mel, and even Lacrimosa by Mozart, arranged into a powerful crescendo. Signature effects, such as comet tails, cascading waterfalls, and volcanic flares, painted a radiant vision of harmony between man and nature – a poetic tribute to Mother Earth.
Musician Nguyen Duc Trinh remarked, “Portugal might be a newcomer, but they delivered a truly innovative and emotionally rich fireworks symphony. Their performance encapsulated everything – joy, sorrow, intensity, and tenderness – all enveloped in stunning artistry.”
The audience was visibly moved by the performance, with many expressing their admiration for the unique blend of music and pyrotechnics. Macedos Pirotecnia burned bright until the last spark, crafting a triumphant fireworks anthem that resonated with harmony, creativity, and the spirit of sustainability.
THE UNITED KINGDOM: RIDING THE WAVES OF EMOTION
Returning to DIFF, Pyrotex Fireworx from the UK presented “Waves of Emotion” – a breathtaking cinematic fireworks journey that stirred every sense. With around 8,000 custom-designed fireworks, the team unfolded a series of captivating chapters, each a musical vignette transitioning from calm serenity to exhilarating intensity.
The show opened gently, like a love song emerging from the depths of the ocean. Suddenly, the rhythm surged with iconic 007 movie scores, plunging viewers into heart-racing action. Then came an unexpected delight – beloved Vietnamese pop hits like “Nguoi Hay Quen Em Di” (My Tam) and “Noi Nay Co Anh” (Son Tung M-TP) erupted, drawing cheers and singalongs from an enthralled Vietnamese audience.
The finale featured timeless masterpieces – Canto Della Terra, Live and Let Die, Dancing Queen, and Future World Music – interwoven into a magnificent outdoor opera of fireworks. It was a journey through emotion, marked by elation, reflection, and awe, all wrapped in a breathtaking display of light and sound that engaged the audience in a unique and unforgettable experience.
“The UK team always brings a classic, powerful aesthetic to the sky. Their finale tonight was dazzling – a signature Pyrotex explosion of elegance”, said musician Nguyen Duc Trinh.

More than just fireworks, Night 4 of DIFF 2025 was a transformative celebration, blending light, sound, and emotion in a captivating symphony. Powerhouse singers Dong Hung, Lam Bao Ngoc, To My, and dynamic dance troupes set the stage ablaze at the Ngu Hanh Son grandstand, infusing Da Nang’s summer with vibrant energy.
On the tech front, the Sky AR outdoor augmented reality experience continued to dazzle, captivating thousands since its debut. This innovative integration showcases Da Nang’s pioneering spirit in smart tourism, harmonizing art and technology to elevate every visitor’s journey, sparking excitement and anticipation for future events.
