On August 19, Sun Group, in cooperation with the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the mega-project “Da Nang Downtown” — a world-class Cultural Park, Entertainment, and Premium Commercial Complex. The project is dedicated to celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National Day on September 2.
The project affirms Da Nang’s aspiration to rise and establish itself as a leading hub of tourism, commerce, and entertainment in the region.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were leaders of central agencies along with representatives from the leadership and departments of Da Nang City.

The Da Nang Downtown project was launched at the right time to unlock new development potential, enhance the city’s economic competitiveness, and reaffirm its position as “Vietnam’s most visit-worthy, livable, and investable city.” With its unique master plan and the expertise of investor Sun Group, we believe that the Da Nang Downtown Cultural Park, Entertainment, and Premium Commercial Complex will become a new growth driver, contributing to the completion of the city’s tourism infrastructure. It will also serve as a powerful catalyst for the breakthrough development of services, commerce, culture, and the arts.

Design perspective of the Da Nang Downtown project.
The Da Nang Downtown mega complex covers an area of 76.92 hectares, located in Hoa Cuong Ward (the former Asia Park site), with a total investment of approximately VND 79,790 billion. It comprises a cultural and entertainment park, a grand theater, a bustling riverside commercial street, a green park embracing the banks of the Han River, and a 69-story iconic tower—the tallest in Central Vietnam. Described as a miniature city within the “City of the Han River,” Da Nang Downtown will be a place where lights converge, culture flourishes, and vibrant rhythms of life pulse day and night.
Occupying a prime location along the Han River, between Tran Thi Ly Bridge and Tien Son Bridge, the Da Nang Downtown Cultural and Entertainment Park is described as the “center of the center.” It is also one of Da Nang’s rare remaining diamond land plots, envisioned as the future “stage of fireworks.”
With its central connecting location, Da Nang Downtown is planned to become an ideal destination for entertainment, leisure, and shopping—emerging as one of Da Nang’s most vibrant nighttime economic hubs, comparable to Clarke Quay or Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

The design perspective of the cultural and artistic event space positions Da Nang Downtown as the entertainment hub of Central Vietnam.
At the heart of Da Nang Downtown is the Cultural and Entertainment Park, featuring a theater of over 9,000 square meters with 4,000 seats (including an Opera hall and a multifunctional hall), along with a museum area, an exhibition center, and more.
Here, Sun Group will invest in world-class outdoor art performances featuring leading international artists, alongside fireworks displays that will illuminate the night-time economy of the City of the Han River.
Inspired by the gentle waves of the romantic Han River, the Cultural and Entertainment Park is designed with a “green” concept. Its central landscape highlight is a serene lagoon, complemented by winding canals that flow outward, embracing lush green spaces full of vitality. Together, they create a poetic symphony of “water – nature – cultural and artistic activities.”
Enhancing visitors’ cultural experiences are the activities within the mixed-use commercial complex. The combination of high-rise and low-rise zones creates dynamic spaces for tourism services and bustling shopping, forming a continuous flow where guests can enjoy entertainment, accommodation, services, and the vibrant night-time economy all in one destination.
The low-rise zone is arranged to embrace the central park, while the high-rise commercial and service zone integrates a full range of amenities, including swimming pools, gyms, children’s play areas, and vibrant commercial spaces.

The 69-story tower — the centerpiece of the mega Cultural, Entertainment, and Premium Commercial Park complex.
A special highlight is the 69-story tower—Vietnam’s second tallest at 408 meters—standing as a vibrant symbol of Da Nang rising in a new era, a place where past and present connect while looking toward the future. It is expected to become an architectural icon of Central Vietnam.
The tower’s design is inspired by the five elements (Ngũ Hành). Its body evokes the image of the traditional white áo dài of Vietnamese women, while its summit forms a special exhibition space shaped like a flame, featuring an arched opening through which sunlight streams, radiating brilliantly like a guiding lighthouse. The tower integrates multiple functions, including a five-star hotel, Grade A offices, luxury apartments, a shopping mall, restaurants, bars, an observation deck, and a convention and event center—creating an “all-in-one” destination for accommodation, work, and premium, distinctive experiences.
Commencing on August 19 alongside nearly 250 key projects nationwide to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Independence Day, the Da Nang Downtown mega complex not only illuminates prosperity along the Han River but also aspires to become the city’s “new heart,” harmonizing past, present, and future within the flow of modernity.
After the merger with Quang Nam, Da Nang became the largest city in Vietnam, home to two World Cultural Heritage sites and two airports, and further empowered by two mega master plans: “Vietnam’s First Free Trade Zone” and the “International Financial Center.” The city is being propelled by numerous new driving-force projects, among which Da Nang Downtown stands as the most dazzling symbol, unlocking new development potential in this era of growth and transformation.
Together with Sun World Ba Na Hills and the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, this project will contribute to elevating the city’s development, securing its place among Asia’s top destinations, and moving toward the position of one of the most attractive destinations on the planet.
