The opening night of the (DIFF 2026) on May 30, 2026, will feature an exciting showdown between the first representative team from Vietnam – the Da Nang International Fireworks Team (Vietnam 1) – and the reigning DIFF 2025 champion from China, Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co., Ltd, under the theme “Nature.”
More than just a fireworks competition, the opening night of DIFF 2026 promises to be a spectacular artistic celebration — a true live concert experience featuring some of Vietnam’s most beloved and talented artists.
The world-class artistic showcase will not only feature renowned stars such as the “Entertainment Queen” Hồ Ngọc Hà and powerhouse vocalist Hoàng Hải, but will also be energized by the youthful and explosive performances of Hà Nhi and Nguyễn Trần Trung Quân.
The artistic performances on opening night have been meticulously choreographed with impressive staging and diverse artistic expressions, infused with the spirit of national pride. The program will celebrate the beauty of Vietnam while vividly portraying a newly expanded Da Nang — youthful, dynamic, and rising strongly day by day.
Beyond the headline artists, the opening night stage will also gather nearly 70 professional dancers alongside more than 30 international performers from Sun World Ba Na Hills. This powerful combination promises an explosive and visually stunning performance space.
Guiding audiences through the emotional journey of the evening will be MC duo Quang Bảo and Thụy Vân. With their modern, flexible, yet emotionally engaging hosting style, the two familiar faces will seamlessly connect every moment of the grand opening night.
A Concert by the Han River Featuring the Largest Dome Stage in DIFF History
Beyond its star-studded line-up and world-class fireworks performances, DIFF 2026 also marks a major leap forward in stage design and performance technology. Under the theme “Danang – United Horizons,” this year’s stage is inspired by the idea of “the intersection of unity,” where horizons, cultures, and emotions converge within one immersive artistic space.
DIFF 2026 has also been named among the Top 9 Festivals Worth Experiencing on the Planet by Travel + Leisure.
With a total width of up to 100 meters and a stage area spanning nearly 1,200 square meters, this is considered the largest stage ever created in DIFF history. The expanded performance space has been designed to optimize viewing experiences from every grandstand angle while enabling large-scale visual productions to connect directly with the fireworks illuminating the sky above the Han River.
A standout highlight is the festival’s first-ever giant lifting dome system. The central dome alone spans over 40 meters wide and stands more than 10 meters high, capable of transforming within less than 70 seconds to create continuous real-time stage transitions.
This year’s performance space also represents a major technological breakthrough, featuring a large-scale laser system, 3D LED matrix displays, Retro Amber lighting, and multi-layered mechanical systems that allow the stage to continuously transform with each performance segment.
Technology continues to play a central role in elevating audience experiences. DIFF 2026 once again introduces Sky AR technology, enabling audiences to interact directly with the fireworks sky through personal devices. Meanwhile, laser LED projections across the Han River and surrounding riverside buildings will transform the entire festival area into a gigantic multidimensional stage. Real-time synchronized sound technology will also ensure audiences can fully experience the fireworks music from every viewing position.
With major investments in stage production, performance technology, artists, and the scale of the international fireworks competition itself, DIFF 2026 is expected to continue transforming Da Nang into Asia’s summer hub of festivals and entertainment — worthy of its recognition as one of the Top 9 Festivals Worth Visiting on the Planet by Travel + Leisure.
