On the morning of April 27, 2025, flight number C65539 from Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan, arrived at Da Nang International Airport, welcoming over 180 passengers keen to explore the diverse tourism offerings of Da Nang.
The inaugural direct flight from Tashkent to Da Nang was met with a heartwarming reception from the Da Nang Department of Tourism representatives, Da Nang International Airport, the Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company, and various operating partners. The warm welcome, which included a traditional water cannon salute, cultural performances, lively mascots, and the thoughtful presentation of flowers and souvenirs, made the passengers feel truly appreciated. Passengers expressed their gratitude for the heartfelt reception and excitement about exploring the city’s renowned attractions, especially its beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, and culinary delights.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, Chairwoman of Prestige DMC Vietnam, noted that the charter route from Tashkent to Da Nang is a collaborative effort involving Prestige DMC Vietnam Co., Ltd., Red Island Company, Centrium-Air Airways, and Prestige Travel Uzbekistan. This service is set to operate from April 27 to October 31, 2025. It is initially scheduled for once a week, with the exciting prospect of increasing to two flights weekly starting June 2025 in response to the anticipated rise in travel demand between the two cities.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, stated, “Building on the success of the direct flight from Almaty (Kazakhstan) to Da Nang, the introduction of the Tashkent route further highlights Da Nang’s growing attractiveness to the promising CIS market. This initiative reflects the city’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its international air connectivity. We view this development as a positive opportunity to attract more visitors from this dynamic region”.
To promote Da Nang as a premier travel destination, the Da Nang Department of Tourism participated in the KITF International Travel Fair in Kazakhstan from April 23 to 25, 2025. This engagement aims to showcase the city’s tourism offerings and foster connections with partners from CIS nations. The delegation also conducted market surveys to tailor products to align with CIS travelers’ preferences, enhancing service quality to ensure an exceptional visitor experience, while strictly adhering to all COVID-19 safety guidelines.
The tourism market from CIS countries, particularly Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, is projected to experience significant growth in 2025, with expectations of welcoming an average of 10,000 monthly visitors from April to October. The inauguration of the Tashkent–Da Nang route brings the total number of weekly flights from the CIS region (Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan) to Da Nang to 11. Additionally, Air Astana is scheduled to initiate four weekly flights between Almaty and Da Nang starting June 3, 2025.
