Cao Van Toi and his family have poured their hearts into freshwater fish farming in the serene Phu Son Village, nestled within Hoa Khuong Commune, Da Nang City, for over a decade. They have lovingly cultivated fish species like bighead carp, mud carp, and grass carp, nurturing the fish and their local community. In June 2019, guided by a deep sense of responsibility to both the environment and their livelihood, Cao Van Toi took a bold step towards sustainability by pioneering the farming of featherback fish. This innovative approach not only enriched their farming practices but also significantly reduced the environmental impact often caused by traditional methods in rice fields.
He recognized the unique and delightful taste of featherback fish. He transformed it into delicious handmade fish cakes, sharing his passion with a broader audience through online sales. The warm response from customers filled him with joy. It inspired him to invest in a processing facility and modern machinery in November 2022, which enhanced their production capabilities and allowed for more consistent operations.
His commitment bore fruit when the business was officially registered on July 7, 2020, under Business License No. 32F8009351, issued by the Hoa Vang District People’s Committee. Over time, their product has blossomed into a beloved local and regional specialty of Hoa Khuong, bringing pride to the family and community.
On May 17, 2022, the Phu Son Village Cooperative was officially established under Business Code 0402148214. It was born out of a shared vision for innovation and sustainability. It includes nine passionate members and four young entrepreneurs driving change and creativity in fish processing.
