Lately on 27th July afternoon, Mr. Dang Viet Dung, Vice President of Danang People’s Committee has officially signed a sponsorship agreement on seaport and 500,000 pounds (about 17 billion Vietnam Dong) for the Clipper Around The World Race 2015 – 2016.
Under this agreement, the name of Danang – Vietnam will officially be tied to 1 out of 12 boats participated in the world longest race with more than 40,000 nautical miles, passing around 140 countries. Information from the organizer, Mrs. Wendy Tuck (50 years of age, Australian) will be the navigator on the boat named Danang – Vietnam. Wendy has over 10 years served as a sailing coach and Captain privileges of the Royal Yacht Association of Australia.
According to schedule, the Clipper Race will race will be docked at Tien Sa Habor (Da Nang) in Feb 2016 and stay here for around 5 to 12 days. Clipper Race 2015 – 2016, known as the yacht race over “5 continents and 4 seas” has the specific schedule as follows:

After 11 months racing around the world and almost 140 countries, the Clipper Race crew will come back to London – England. This will be a wonderful chance to promote Danang city’s image to the world.
