Avalokitesvara Festival – Marble Mountains 2017 from 14th to 16th March

The Avalokitesvara Festival – Marble Mountains is a religious festival organized annually on 19th of February (lunar calendar) at Quan The Am Pagoda, Ngu Hanh Son District, Danang. Together with other religious festivals in Vietnam, this is a community activity to preserve the cultural beauty and traditional values and customs of the country.

The People’s Committee of Ngu Hanh Son District has launched their plan to organize Avalokitesvara Festival this year. Accordingly, the festival will last from 14th to 16th March, 2017 (or 17th to 19th February in lunar calendar)

  • Opening ceremony: 19h00 14th March
  • Avalokitesvara ceremony: 7h00 16th March
  • Closing ceremony: 19h00 16th March 2, 2017

Besides Buddhism ceremonies, the festival this year will include other cultural and sports events such as calligraphy exhibition, tourism photo gallery, Buddhism museum, Bai choi performance, spring festival, traditional martial arts performance, community run, boats race … Avalokitesvara festival this year will also welcome the participation of Buddhist delegates from Japan, Myanmar, Thailand.
