According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, a wide range of cultural and sporting events will be held in the city to celebrate National Reunification Day (30 April) and International Labour Day (1 May).
A musical performance is scheduled to take place at a park near the eastern end of the Han River Bridge at 7.30pm on Thursday (28 April). The event will feature fascinating song and dance items performed by artistes from the Trung Vuong Theatre.
Another musical show is expected to be held at the same venue at 7.30pm on Saturday evening (30 April). The audience will be treated to numerous prize-winning song and dance items from the recent Da Nang Public Arts Festival.
At 7.30pm the same evening, 30 April, the sensational Germein Sisters from Australia will perform at the Bien Dong (East Sea) Park in Son Tra District. The three musical sisters are turning heads across the globe with their infectious indie pop tunes, mesmerising spirit, and irresistible charm. Between 29 April and 4 May, the Da Nang Antiques Fair will take place at the Museum of Da Nang. The fair is the opportunity for local antique lovers to buy and sell their favourite antiques. Free admission is offered all day long for visitors.
Numerous entertainments and cultural activities will also be held along the banks of the Han River. They include a street music performance on the Bach Dang riverside walk at 7.30pm on Saturday (30 April), and the Dragon’s head breathing fire and squirting water at the eastern end of the Rong Bridge at 9.00pm on Saturday (30 April) and Sunday (1 May).
At 7.30pm on Sunday (1 May) there will be a trumpet performance at the western end of the Rong Bridge, opposite the Museum of Cham Sculpture.
The municipal Youth Union is organising an event entitled ‘Weekend Playground’ in a park near the Novotel Danang Premier Han River from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Sunday (1 May). The event will feature various activities, including funny games and hip-hop and dancing contests.
