1. ASEAN School Games 2024
The 13th ASEAN School Games (ASG 13) is scheduled to take place in Da Nang from May 29 to June 9, 2024, centered around the theme “Connect to Shine Bright”. The primary objective of ASG13 is to facilitate the convergence of students from ASEAN member countries, providing them with a platform to demonstrate their athletic prowess and unity, thereby contributing to the cultivation of a cohesive and progressive Southeast Asia. The event is anticipated to draw the participation of approximately 1,500 athletes, coaches, and delegates representing 10 ASEAN nations.

– Mascot: The red-shanked douc langur, a rare and precious animal found on Son Tra Peninsula (Danang).
2. Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2024)
During the summer months, Danang welcomes millions of visitors from both domestic and international locations who come to experience the “symphony of light” showcased during the Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF). The upcoming DIFF 2024, themed “Made in Unity – Global Connection – Radiant Five Continents,” is scheduled to span over two months, from June 8 to July 13, 2024. The festival will feature five competition nights with the participation of eight teams representing Vietnam, Finland, the USA, France, China, Italy, Poland, and Germany. In addition to the fireworks displays, the event will offer various supporting activities including street festivals, jet ski performances, and music shows.
Tickets for DIFF 2024 are available in five grandstand categories, ranging from 800,000 VND to 3,000,000 VND, and can be purchased through booking.sunworld.vn. Many visitors choose the All-in-One Combo, which includes a DIFF ticket, a cable car ticket to Ba Na, and a buffet lunch, providing an opportunity to enjoy the stunning light performances and visit the iconic Ba Na Hills at a preferential price. The All-in-One Combo is accessible through the DIFF information portal, with pricing set at 1,750,000 VND for adults and 1,500,000 VND for children.

3. Danang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF II)
The upcoming 2nd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF II) with the theme “Bridging Asia” is scheduled to be held from July 2 to July 6. This festival will encompass various categories including Asian films in competition, Vietnamese films in competition, and feature films under the title ‘Vietnamese Cinema Today’. Notably, this year’s festival will introduce outdoor screenings at Nhu Nguyet Street on July 3-4 and at the park in front of the Administrative Center of Lien Chieu District on July 5.

4. Enjoy Danang Festival 2024
The Enjoy Danang Festival is an annual cultural and tourism event aimed at the development of new tourism products and the attraction of both domestic and international tourists. Themed “Say Hi Da Nang,” the 2024 festival will showcase a range of special activities, including a grand opening night concert featuring renowned singers, the Danang International Food Festival, the Art Kite Festival, the Beach Festival, a tourism experience space, the Folk Festival, the “Enjoy Danang” tour program, the marine environmental protection day “Blue Ocean,” nightly art music performances “Enjoy Danang,” Flashmob and yoga performances, barefoot beach running, motorized paragliding performances, parachute canoe performances, jet ski performances, and the Danang Open SUP Racing Competition.

5. Vietnam – Japan Festival
The festival is an integral part of a series of activities that mark the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations. It encompasses exchange activities across various fields to foster international cooperation between Danang city and Japanese representative agencies in Vietnam, alongside localities, organizations, businesses, and artists from Japan. Key activities of the festival comprise the opening ceremony, booths presenting Japanese-Vietnamese culture and products, a Vietnam-Japan cooperation promotion workshop, and various other engaging artistic exchange activities.

6. VnExpress Marathon Da Nang Midnight
The VnExpress Marathon Da Nang Midnight is scheduled for the early morning of July 14th, 2024, with an expected participation of around 10,000 individuals. This marathon marks the third-night run of the VnExpress Marathon series, following successful events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Participants will commence the race precisely at midnight on July 14th, 2024, navigating the charming coastal streets of the central region.
Da Nang is widely recognized as the city of bridges in Vietnam. Throughout the race, runners will have the unique opportunity to traverse prominent bridges such as the Han River Bridge, Dragon Bridge, and Tran Thi Ly Bridge while enjoying the enchanting views of the Han River at night. The event will feature 10,000 participants competing across four distances: 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km.

7. Vietnam – ASEAN Festival
The inaugural Vietnam-ASEAN Festival aims to enhance the amicable ties between Da Nang city and Southeast Asian nations. The Department of Foreign Affairs will collaborate with the Embassies and Consulates General of ASEAN countries in Vietnam, as well as local authorities, businesses, and organizations from Southeast Asian countries, to orchestrate complementary events and facilitate cultural and artistic exchanges.

8. Vietnam-Republic of Korea Festival
